Overview

Lean and Industry 4.0 -

Value-added-oriented process optimization

For years, SEW-EURODRIVE has significantly increased its competitiveness by establishing lean factories (One Piece Flow, Small Factory Units). Today, SEW factories can react quickly and very flexibly to customer requirements. This applies to both individual production (large gear unit plant Bruchsal, day 1) and series production (motor assembly Graben-Neudorf, day 2). The process optimizations implemented allow a further step in optimization through networking and digitalisation: Industry 4.0. An Industry 4.0 factory has been created in the gear unit and motor plant of SEW-EURODRIVE, which demonstrates the use of a whole range of new mobile assistance systems and new possibilities for flexible factory control.
